Lychee is a tropical fruit of Chinese origin, but now has expanded its growing area globally, mainly in subtropical regions and, particularly in Asia. Belong to the same family as rambutan and longans, the lychee fruit is recognized by its characteristic thin pink-red skin, with rough texture, though the skin was green before ripe. The fruit is varied in shape, from round to ovoid to heart-shaped. The edible white flesh inside is juicy, fresh, and sweet, giving off a pleasant floral smell.
With an attractive taste and pleasant aroma, lychee is considered a popular summer fruit. Litchi consists mainly of water (82%) and carbs (16.5%).
