FRAGRANT KNOTWEED

Fragrant Knotweed, also known as “Laksa leaves”, “Vietnamese coriander” and “Rau răm” in Vietnamese, is a native herb in Southeast Asia, mostly cultivated for its use in culinary. The plant is a sprawling annual herb, has reddish stems that turn up at the tips; the roots form freely from the nodes. All parts of the plant are fragrant when bruised. Leaves have distinctive sheath where the petiole joins the stem. They have a blade-like shape, medium to bright green, and often has a darker green or purple blotch in the lower middle area

Fragrant knotweed’s aroma is like that of coriander, warm and spicy, with a lemon tang, while the flavor is lemony and peppery at the same time.
